No one expects to wake up to find a cow inside their home, but that is exactly what happened to Kay Laing, a lady who discovered the massive animal stranded on the trampoline in her yard.
When she observed the cow’s presence and pondered how she got there, she couldn’t help but be amazed.
It turns out that 40 cows escaped from a South Gippsland property in Victoria last Wednesday, and the owners intervened, rescuing them and relocating them to the farm where they live.
The herd was discovered in the middle of the road by a truck driver, who knocked on the doors of the neighboring rural houses; some individuals had cows dispersed in their yards, and they all directed them to the farm.
But one of them was missing, and she tried to leap over the trampoline but couldn’t, so she sat there until someone came to aid her.
Kay was alerted by the driver to examine her yard, but she found nothing. However, during a second investigation, he saw that the animal was inside his yard.
“I contacted the neighbor and said, ‘Wow, I’m sorry David, there’s a cow stuck on the trampoline, I’m not fooling you, it’s actually on the trampoline,’” she explained.
Kay was notified of the discovery of the fugitive cow, which had emerged a kilometer away from the farm from whence it had fled.
She summoned the farm owners, who rushed to her rescue with a tractor, chains, and a crane.
“I don’t know how long it took us to rescue her, but we were back in bed at 3:30 a.m.,” the farm’s owners, Ross and Russel, said.
They believe the cow would have been horrified by what she seen; thankfully, the farm’s owners were able to effectively pull her off the trampoline.
The duo was aworre of his behavior and attempted to gently remove the animal from the trampoline so that it would not sustain any injury.
The cow was clearly distressed since she didn’t know how to get out of the situation; when she received assistance from her owners, she recognized them, dropped down, and sat down.
“She was alright, we scooped her up, and she went home, maybe a mile,” the farm owner explained.
